On Friday, December 13, 2024, rice farmers at the Lower Kuja Rice Scheme received high-yield Arize Gold 6444 rice seeds in a distribution event led by the FBF team, headed by Dr. Osowo. The team emphasized accuracy in identifying and distributing the seeds to the intended beneficiaries within the scheme.
Arize Gold 6444 is renowned for its exceptional yield potential due to its capacity for abundant flowering and robust sprouting. This variety produces significantly higher output per acre compared to other rice seed varieties, making it a preferred choice for farmers seeking to maximize productivity.
The distribution of these seeds was made possible through the generous support of The People of Japan via a water-related agricultural resilience project spearheaded by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

In total, 250 farmers each received 10 kilograms of Arize Gold 6444 seeds, sufficient to cultivate one acre of farmland. This initiative is expected to enhance agricultural output and bolster food security in the region.
