About First Bridge Foundation
First Bridge Foundation, an NGO, is a Kenyan community-centric organization reputed for implementing impactful, evidence-based solutions to challenges that cause devastation to the impoverished communities. We strive to build the resilience of the vulnerable communities for them to attain self- reliance, through safeguarding, sustaining and improving their livelihoods. We empower the future population- the children. We empower adults and we also cater for the immediate needs of the most vulnerable i.e. the elderly, babies and children, the sick, and disabled. We also offer emergency interventions in calamity situations. Through this approach, we envisage that the current and future communities will be resilient and empowered to attain sustainable self-reliance. Our current community empowerment projects are in crop and livestock production that we implement in the drought vulnerable counties in Kenya. We also run projects in healthcare, education, environment and social protection.

Our Approach to Development
First Bridge Foundation aims at fighting and reducing poverty and spurring growth among poor communities which requires strategic, high-value investment of scarce resources, whether they come from donors, governments, or communities. Interventions to reduce the burden of poverty need to be rigorously identified, tested, and scaled up to be cost-effective and have high impact. FBF develops models for such interventions that allow many people to be served and return on the social investment measured. We bridge the gap by pursuing resources that are applied to alleviate the adverse poverty impact through pilot interventions on one hand, and institutionalized programs on the other.
