Strengthening Livelihoods Through Agricultural Mechanization
In partnership with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and local county governments, First Bridge Foundation supported farmers’ groups with agricultural machinery to boost food production and improve household incomes.
Why this matters
Efficiency & Productivity: Farmers can now thresh, shell, and process produce faster, saving time and labor.
Income Generation: Community groups can run the machines as shared enterprises, generating revenue while reducing post-harvest losses.
Resilience Building: By reducing drudgery and increasing output, families are better equipped to withstand drought and food insecurity shocks.
The event brought together farmers, local leaders, and stakeholders, who celebrated the milestone as a step toward modernizing smallholder farming and empowering rural communities with the tools needed to thrive.
